Story behind EditCheck
Geurt
Besselink, one of the top nature photographers in the Netherlands,
noticed that there was no tool in Lightroom to check if photos had been
sharpened, lens correction applied, or ... before delivering them to his
clients. The only way to make sure this was done was to manually check them
one by one. Obviously this was time consuming and could easily lead to
errors.
So he decided there must be an easier and more intelligent method. We
collaborated and we created the solution for this problem: EditCheck!
This unique tool - EditChecks - does not only check if a photo is
sharpened, it actually checks almost 50 development adjustments.
EditCheck is a quality check tool.
EditCheck is a tool which checks if a photo still has its default
settings, which means it has not been edited.
EditCheck reports in an accurate and very brief manner which selected
photos have not been edited for almost 50 development adjustments. These
reported editing steps can be: sharpening, lens correction, etc, see
screen-shots below.
Why do I need EditCheck
EditCheck is recommended for photographers – professional, semi
professional, photo enthusiasts and anybody else as a great help in ensuring
that their photos have the right adjustments.
Run EditCheck before delivering your photos to your client, before uploading
them to a website or sending them off to be printed.
Another advantage is that this tool is for personal development;
photographers tend to experiment and this tool is a great help in improving
your own skills.
How does EditCheck work
Operating EditCheck involves only 2 steps:
Select the photos you want to check (max 1500).
Choose Menu -> Library -> Plug-in Extra -> EditCheck
Result
For each development tool / slider a collection is created with these
unedited photos.
These collections are organized in a hierarchy of 7 collection sets, in
the same way as the right panel in the Develop module.
So with a few clicks you see all the photos for which Exposure has not
been changed for ...
